Care & Maintenance of Quartz Countertops

Stubborn Food Stains

Pour a little amount of nonabrasive bleacher on a damp cloth or paper towel. Wipe and clean the surface with circular motions and rinse immediately. To remove stubborn stains such as metal print and rust, pour a small amount of detergent on a scouring sponge, scrub gently and rinse immediately. We recommend you to clean quartz surface regularly to maintain its look as the first day.

Residues

Scrape dried, sticky food and gum residues with a plastic or wood kitchen spatula first. Then wipe all the mark with a damp cloth with detergent and rinse immediately. Do not use any corrosive products for cleaning in order not to damage the surface luster.

Chemicals and Cleaners to be Avoided

Oven-furnace cleaners, ground cleaners, dishwashing machine detergents, toilet cleaners, furniture cleaners, drain openers, stain removers and battery acids, etc. Continuous exposure to such chemicals and cleaners cause permanent damage and color change on the surface of your counter. Should your surface come into contact with such a potential damaging agent, rinse the exposed surface immediately and thoroughly with water.

Regular Cleaning

A cleaning done with a damp cloth, soap or mild detergent will be adequate for quartz surface to look excellent, thanks to non-porous surfaces. Rinse the detergent with hot water and dry with a cloth or paper towel. Another cleaning method is to clean the surface with a mixture of vinegar and water and to rinse. Avoid using cleaners containing particules due to their abrasive effects. Prefer gel or liquid cleaning products.

Resistance

Quartz is resistant against scratching, breaking, cracking and stains. However, it can be damaged due to extreme impacts and pressure caused by various objects. Like all surfaces, quartz surfaces can be damaged permanently when exposed to strong chemicals. Do not expose quartz surfaces to sharp-edged objects even so they are resistant to scratches. Use of cutting board is always recommended.

Thermal Resistance

Although quartz is more thermal resistant comparing to any other surface including granite, it can be damaged by sudden and fast heat changes. Using trivets under all kinds of electric heating and cooking devices is always recommended. Do not put hot cookwares such as pans and pots directly on quartz surface after having taken out from the cooker or oven.
